AMC’s First Anthology Series “The Terror” Renewed For A Second Season

The critically acclaimed anthology The Terror will return for a second series, inspired by true stories from the tragedies of World War II.

The second instalment will centre on an uncanny spectre that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.

Executive produced by Ridley Scott, and co-created by Alexander Woo (True Blood) and Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla), the next season will air in 2019 with 10 episodes.

The first season of The Terror was inspired by the Royal Navy’s real-life, perilous voyage in 1847 of attempting to discover the Northwest Passage. Frozen, isolated and stuck at the end of the earth, the poignant yet harrowing series, starring Jared Harris, Ciaran Hinds and Tobias Menzies, highlighted all that can go wrong when a group of men, desperate to survive, struggle not only with the elements but with each other.
